Dutch, brass oval tobacco box bearing the arms of the United Dutch provinces, with demonized clergymen on the bottom. The owners’ name, John Bradley-Eye 1730 on the interior of the lid and John Bradley 1789 on the outside front rim. Connection included with the box is that the later date, 1789, is probably a christening date for his grandchild. Eye is in Suffolk. John Bradley was a British painter who emigrated to America. c.1730, 5.25″L, 3″W, 1.5″H
